Medical researchers remain baffled at attempts to treat obesity with appetite suppressing hormones like PYY
Scientists remain baffled at attempts to treat obesity by administering hormones such as PYY, which reportedly function as appetite suppressants. In 2002, researchers from London reported that they had found a way to turn off the appetite signal by administering the PYY hormone, which appears to tell the brain that the stomach is full. They reported that they were able to reduce the food intake and body weight of rats by administering PYY, and subsequent studies even included humans. However,... read more ››

Fight Against Fat Goes High-Tech With New Devices
ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) -- The fight against fat is going high-tech. To get an inside look at eating and exercise habits, scientists are developing wearable wireless sensors to monitor overweight and obese people as they go about their daily lives.
The experimental devices are designed to keep track of how many minutes they work out, how much food they consume and even whether they are at a fast-food joint when they should be in the park. The goal is to cut down on self-reported answers that often... read more ››

Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometric Study of N-Oxidation Products of Clenbuterol
Electrospray ionization has been used for the mass spectrometric study of N-oxidation products of clenbuterol, i.e. its hydroxylamine, nitro and nitroso analogues. The behaviour of these compounds towards in-source collisional activation has been investigated. Although these products follow the same general dissociation pathways, some noticeable differences appear in their electrospray in-source collisional activation mass spectra. Indeed, the nitro and nitroso derivatives fragment via specific additional... read more ››

Can Clen increase performance?
Depending on the dosage, Clen can improve (with low dosages) or reduce performance (with high dosages). Therefore, if you are using high doses of Clen (past 10 to 15 tablets), I recommend that you split up the dosage into two uneven parts. Before training, use a small to moderate amount of Clen to optimize both your strength and your muscle pump. It is up to you to find this individual dose but it is fairly easy. After training, use the rest of the Clen in order to reach your predetermined... read more ››

The art of spot reduction
As you go on a diet, you can only notice that you lose fat very unevenly on your body. Areas on which you do not wish to concentrate your fat loss seem the most reactive to the caloric restriction. On the other hand, areas on which you desire to shed fat seem to be unaffected by the diet. In women, the breast is shrinking while the lower body remains as fat as it was. In men even if the waist is getting smaller, the abs are not getting any more visible. Why put your body through... read more ››

Meridia - Consumer Advocate Asks FDA to Ban Weight Loss Pill
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A consumer advocacy group is petitioning the government to ban the weight loss pill Meridia because a recent study suggests it increases risk of heart attack, stroke and death.
A letter Thursday from Public Citizen calls on the Food and Drug Administration to pull Abbott Laboratories' drug from the U.S. market, where it is used by roughly a quarter million people.
Preliminary results from a 10,000-patient study showed a slightly higher risk of heart-related problems in patients... read more ››

Muscles More Than an Exercise in Vanity
DR. PAUL D. THOMPSON, a 60-year-old marathon runner and chief of cardiology at Hartford Hospital, stood in front of a medical audience recently and began his talk with a story about himself.
“I’ve been lifting weights since I was 12 years old and look at me,” he said. Dr. Thompson is small and wiry with not a bulging muscle on him. He speculated that he must have a genetic inability to build muscles, no matter how hard he works at it.
But are his muscles healthy?
It is not the... read more ››

After Disputed Drug Ban, Hardy Dives Back In
By Amy Shipley
Washington Post Staff Writer Monday, September 7, 2009
The eruption of tears after Jessica Hardy absorbed what she saw on the scoreboard at the U.S. Open swim meet last month seemed disproportionate, on the surface, to the achievement. Sure, she had gone under the world record in the 100-meter breaststroke, but that was not new; she had set world marks previously.
And the meet itself? It wasn't significant enough to merit daily coverage from the local newspapers.
Yet... read more ››

Increase in Aerobic Capacity: Clenbuterol
The drug Clenbuterol results in an increased aerobic capacity of the blood, which is the amount of oxygen carrying capacity of the same. The increased oxygen transportation in the blood is as a result of the property of being a thermogenic drug. Clenbuterol gives rise to a higher body temperature, as it affects the thermogenesis of the body, and increases the fat burning and breakdown of glycogen. These result in the greater availability of energy for the cells, in the form of glucose and ATP.

Clenbuterol Vs. Eca – Pros, Cons, and More
In the world of bodybuilding contest dieting, there are two big players. The first is Clenbuterol, an adrenergic agonist that stimulates the central nervous system to lose weight. The other, ECA, is a stack of ephedrine, aspirin, and caffeine, which work together to create a synergistic thermogenic effect in the body. Bodybuilding, fitness, and figure competitors to shed body fat and maintain high energy levels when preparing for a contest commonly use them both.

Overcoming Slow Fat Loss
If you have been losing weight regular but results have started to diminish, then you have probably reached a fat loss plateau where fat loss is very slow or has stopped. How about the type of person who gets up at 11 and then sits around the house all day?
